A new millionaire has emerged in New Jersey after a $90 million Mega Millions jackpot ticket was sold Tuesday at a Union City store.

The winning ticket was purchased at Garden State News, located at 4024 Bergenline Avenue. Store owner Krish Patel, who has run the shop since 2014, learned of the win on Wednesday morning. “I just found out this morning at 6:30 that we had a winner,” Patel said. “It’s great for the player, for us and the community. Now, we’re one of the lucky stores, too.”

The winning numbers were 17, 25, 26, 53, 60, with a Mega Ball of 16. Garden State News will receive a $30,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket, which has a cash payout of nearly $42 million.

This comes only five draws after a Georgia player claimed a record $983 million Mega Millions jackpot in November. The identity of the Union City winner has not yet been revealed.

Lotto officials advise the winner to keep the ticket secure, share the news only with a trusted friend or family member, and seek guidance from a lawyer, financial adviser, and tax professional before claiming the prize.
