Tyler Robinson, accused of killing conservative activist Charlie Kirk, is scheduled to make his first in-person court appearance on Thursday.

Kirk, 31, was shot during an outdoor event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, on Sept. 10. He was the founder of Turning Point USA and was on the first stop of his “The American Comeback Tour,” which invited college students to discuss and debate political issues.

Robinson, 22, allegedly fled the scene, triggering a large-scale manhunt. He surrendered to authorities the evening of Sept. 11.

He faces charges including aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury, obstruction of justice, two counts of witness tampering, and committing a violent offense in the presence of a child.

Robinson has made two prior court appearances—one virtual and one audio-only—but has not yet entered a plea. If convicted of aggravated murder, he could face the death penalty.
