Ohio-based wholesaler Lil’ Turtles has issued a voluntary recall of all lots of its Grandma Belle’s Tomato Basil Soup after the milk allergen was not listed on the product label, posing a risk to individuals with milk allergies or severe sensitivities.
The recall affects 17 oz. glass jars of the soup that were sold between September 2022 and December 3, 2025. Unlike major grocery chains, the soup was distributed to local markets and retail stores across 14 states, including Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Utah, and Wisconsin. The issue was discovered during a routine inspection by the Ohio Department of Agriculture.
Consumers who purchased the soup at the affected locations are advised to stop using it immediately and contact Lil’ Turtles for a replacement. The list of specific stores includes Countryside Variety in Illinois, Dented Can in Indiana, Golden Delight Bakery in Iowa, Jet Produce in Kansas, Creekside Pantry in Kentucky, Cherry Grove Market in Minnesota, 45 Flea Market in Mississippi, Sunnyside Market in Missouri, multiple locations in New York including The Olde Bat Factory and Beef and Butter Company, several Ohio stores such as Baltic Meats and Jungle Jim, Amish Cheesehouse in Oklahoma, Indian Trail Country Market in Pennsylvania, Applecreek Willard in Utah, and Hecks Farm Market in Wisconsin.
Consumers with questions about the recall can contact Josh Coblentz at Lil’ Turtles at 330-897-6400 for further guidance.
