MANHATTAN, NEW YORK – A 38-year-old woman was stabbed in the back and slashed on the arm in an apparent random attack inside Macy’s flagship store at Herald Square in Manhattan on Thursday afternoon.
The attack occurred just after 3 p.m., and police said the assault appeared unprovoked. The victim was rushed to Bellevue Hospital and is expected to survive her injuries.
Police later arrested Kerri Aherne, 43, from Tewksbury, Massachusetts, in connection with the incident. She faces charges including attempted murder, assault, and weapon possession. Attorney information for Aherne was not immediately available.
