Anheuser-Busch is closing two of its U.S. brewing facilities as part of a broader restructuring of its manufacturing network. The company plans to shut down its breweries in Fairfield, California, and Merrimack, New Hampshire, in early 2026, and has already sold its Newark, New Jersey, site to the Goodman Group. Production from all three locations will be shifted to other Anheuser-Busch facilities across the country, a move the company says will strengthen its remaining operations and support its portfolio of leading brands.
Roughly 475 full-time employees will be affected by the closures, though the company says each will be offered a full-time role elsewhere within Anheuser-Busch. The brewery network has been undergoing a modernization push, with nearly $2 billion invested so far. Earlier this year, the company funded upgrades at several of its U.S. breweries, including locations in Los Angeles, St. Louis, and Baldwinsville, New York, as part of a $300 million plan to enhance production capabilities nationwide.
