BUCKS COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA – State Police continue to investigate the 2008 murder of Gary Redner, a Pennsylvania grocery store executive who was fatally beaten outside his Berks County home.
Redner, 55, served as executive vice president of Redner’s Warehouse Market, which operates numerous grocery and convenience stores across Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware, including locations in Lancaster and Lebanon counties. On the morning of March 9, 2008, authorities discovered his body in a neighbor’s driveway on the 400 block of Reber’s Bridge Road in Lower Heidelberg Township. His death was ruled a homicide caused by blunt force trauma.
At the time of his death, Redner still had $270 in his wallet. He was last seen around 7 p.m. on March 8, leaving Ganley’s Pub, located approximately half a mile from his home. Investigators believe Redner was confronted in his driveway while sitting in his vehicle, then fled through a wooded area to a neighbor’s driveway, where the assailant caught up to him and continued the attack.
State Police are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case. Tips can be submitted through the PSP Tips Toll-Free line at 1-800-472-8477 or online.
