LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – Nick Reiner, the 32-year-old son of Rob and Michele Reiner, is currently in custody with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department as of Monday morning.
The couple was discovered Sunday in their Los Angeles home by one of their daughters, both suffering fatal stab wounds to the throat. Authorities have not confirmed the motive, though initial reports suggest the incident may have followed a family dispute. The involvement of any other family member has not been verified.
Friends and collaborators, including Billy Crystal and Larry David, were seen leaving the Reiners’ home visibly shaken. Video footage shows Crystal and his wife, Janice, appearing emotional, with Janice wiping away tears near the cordoned-off crime scene.
The deaths have sparked an outpouring of tributes from public figures such as Barack Obama, Stephen King, and Ben Stiller, mourning the loss of Rob, 78, and Michele, 68.
