Swire Coca-Cola is set to open a $475 million bottling plant in Colorado Springs as part of its strategy to expand production and advance sustainability initiatives. The 620,000-square-foot facility will manufacture over 230 beverages across 60 brands, according to the company.
Groundbreaking is scheduled for 2026, and the plant is expected to generate 170 jobs while replacing Swire Coca-Cola’s 90-year-old Denver facility. Headquartered in Utah, Swire Coca-Cola distributes beverages across 13 Western U.S. states and is seeking LEED Gold Certification to minimize the facility’s environmental impact. Bryan Sink, senior vice president of supply chain for Swire Coca-Cola USA, said the project demonstrates the company’s long-term commitment to the region, supporting local employment and enhancing production capabilities. The Colorado Springs plant replaces a previously planned Denver site, which was scrapped earlier this year due to “timeline instability.” The move aligns with Coca-Cola’s broader strategy of transferring bottling operations to local and independent operators to improve profitability, following a recent report of 5% revenue growth to $12.5 billion in North America.
