Edgar Wright’s remake of The Running Man is now available to buy or rent on digital platforms as of Tuesday.
The digital release includes 2 1/2 hours of bonus content, featuring Wright’s commentary and in-world commercials.
The futuristic action film, which hit theaters on Nov. 14, stars Glen Powell, William H. Macy, Lee Pace, Michael Cera, Emilia Jones, Daniel Ezra, Jayme Lawson, Sean Hayes, Katy O’Brian, Colman Domingo, and Josh Brolin.
The story follows a deadly game show in which contestants must survive 30 days while being hunted by professional assassins, with each moment broadcast to a bloodthirsty audience and escalating cash rewards. Ben Richards (Powell), a working-class participant, is forced into the competition by the show’s ruthless producer (Brolin). His defiance and resourcefulness quickly make him a fan favorite and a threat to the system.
The film is based on a story by Stephen King and follows the 1987 adaptation starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
