Police identify suspects in violent brawl caught on video in Cincinnati

A violent brawl that erupted in downtown Cincinnati early Saturday morning has resulted in five people being charged, with police expecting more arrests as the investigation continues. The fight broke out around 3:06 a.m. near a busy area hosting a basketball game, a Reds baseball game, and a music festival, attracting over 150,000 people. Officers arrived six minutes later to find the altercation over, but the victims still on the scene. Videos circulating online show brutal attacks, including a man in a white T-shirt being repeatedly beaten and stomped on, and a woman punched and possibly knocked unconscious.

Police Chief Teresa A. Theetge confirmed that suspects and victims have been identified and condemned the lack of emergency calls despite many bystanders filming the violence. She emphasized alcohol’s role in the incident and noted authorities are investigating whether some individuals were overserved at local venues. The chief also criticized social media coverage for distorting facts and complicating law enforcement efforts. Meanwhile, political figures, including gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, have condemned the violence and questioned local safety and law enforcement response. Cincinnati city officials have denounced the attacks, calling the behavior unacceptable and vowing to hold all involved accountable.
