WHEELING, ILLINOIS – CreateOn has issued a recall of approximately 9,400 Crayola-branded magnetic building cubes due to a serious risk if swallowed by children.

The recalled pip-Cubes contain magnets that can become loose when the seams separate, creating a potential ingestion hazard. Swallowed magnets can attract to each other or other metal objects inside the body, which may perforate, twist, or block the intestines, potentially leading to life-threatening injuries or death, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The recall covers both Bold Colors and Glitter versions of the magnetic building cubes, sold in sets of 24 or 27 pieces. Bold Colors sets include red, green, blue, and yellow cubes, while Glitter sets feature purple, pink, blue, and green cubes with a glitter coating. Each cube is imprinted with the “Crayola” name on its left side.

The 24-piece sets sold for about $20 at Michaels stores nationwide and online at Michaels.com. The 27-piece sets retailed for approximately $35 on Amazon.com. All recalled cubes were sold between May and July 2025. No injuries have been reported.

CreateOn, based in Wheeling, Illinois, is offering replacement sets. Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled cubes immediately and keep them away from children. Customers can contact CreateOn for a prepaid shipping label to return the products and receive replacements.

The recalled cubes were manufactured in China. Model and UPC numbers are printed on the bottom of the packaging. Details for the recall are listed under number 26-128.
