LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – In-N-Out Burger has quietly removed order number 67 from its ticketing system after a viral meme reportedly led to large crowds of teenagers overwhelming restaurants.

An employee at a Los Angeles location confirmed that the number was officially removed last month, though the company has not made a public statement regarding the change. Social media videos have shown crowds erupting in chaotic cheering when the number is announced. One widely shared clip shows an employee explaining that the ticket sequence now jumps from 66 to 68, skipping 67 entirely. The same employee noted that number 69 had previously been removed for similar reasons.

Reddit users were among the first to notice the missing number pattern at multiple locations, sparking discussion online. The craze stems from rapper Skrilla’s song “Doot Doot (6 7),” which features the number prominently, and was later popularized by Charlotte Hornets point guard LaMelo Ball, who referenced it in connection to his height. Fans of the meme often shout “6-7” while making an alternating hand gesture when hearing the numbers six or seven.

The meme became so widespread that Dictionary.com named “6-7” its 2025 Word of the Year, highlighting its blend of digital humor, sports culture, and generational creativity. Unlike In-N-Out, other fast-food chains such as Wendy’s and Pizza Hut embraced the trend with 67-cent promotional deals.

In-N-Out, headquartered in Irvine, California, has not commented publicly on the removal.
