Paramount+ has officially renewed Taylor Sheridan’s hit oil drama series Landman for a third season, following strong ratings and fan enthusiasm.
Set in the bustling boomtowns of West Texas, Landman follows the high-stakes world of oil rigs, exploring the lives of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires whose pursuits of fortune drive a boom that reshapes the economy, climate, and geopolitics. Based on the 11-part podcast Boomtown, the series blends personal drama with the larger social and economic impact of the oil industry.
Season 2 delved deeper into secrets and tensions, with Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton) approaching a breaking point as he navigates mounting pressure from M-Tex Oil, Cami Miller (Demi Moore), and the shadow of his family. Survival in West Texas, the series emphasizes, is never noble—it’s brutal, and eventually something has to give.
Alongside Thornton and Moore, the cast features Andy Garcia, Ali Larter, and Sam Elliott, with supporting performances from Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, James Jordan, and Colm Feore.
Landman is co-created by Sheridan and Christian Wallace and executive produced by Sheridan, David C. Glasser, David Hutkin, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, Wallace, Thornton, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Friedman, and Stephen Kay. Additional executive producers include Dan Friedkin and Jason Hoch for Imperative Entertainment, J.K. Nickell, and Megan Creydt for Texas Monthly, with Tommy Turtle serving as co-executive producer. The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios, and Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch Productions.
