President Donald Trump is set to travel from Washington, D.C., to Baltimore on Saturday afternoon to attend the 126th Army-Navy football game at M&T Bank Stadium, where protests are anticipated.
Trump’s visit comes amid his continued criticism of Baltimore’s Democratic leadership, claiming that crime in the city is spiraling out of control. Maryland Gov. Wes Moore has pushed back, saying the city’s crime rates are improving. Trump has threatened to deploy National Guard troops to address crime, a strategy he has previously used in other Democratic-led cities, including Chicago and Los Angeles.
Both Trump and Gov. Moore are expected to attend the storied matchup, which has been held annually since 1901. This marks Trump’s sixth time attending the Army-Navy game, either as president or president-elect.
Back in Washington, Trump is facing renewed scrutiny over his ties to Jeffrey Epstein. Democratic lawmakers continue to highlight the Epstein case, releasing new photos from the late financier’s estate showing Trump alongside Epstein. Other figures in the images include former President Bill Clinton, former Trump advisor Steve Bannon, and entrepreneur Bill Gates. Trump has dismissed the significance of the photos, calling them “no big deal.”
