The threats were sent via email with the subject line “MAGA” and came from an address claiming the “2020 election was rigged.”
Law enforcement officials quickly responded and conducted thorough security sweeps at all affected offices. Schumer confirmed that all staff members are safe and expressed gratitude for the prompt and professional actions of the authorities. He strongly condemned the threats, emphasizing that political violence has no place in the system and that no public servant, staff member, or citizen should be targeted for simply performing their duties.
