The Senate is set to hold a confirmation hearing on Wednesday to review the renomination of Jared Isaacman as head of NASA, a post initially proposed by President Donald Trump. Isaacman’s nomination was withdrawn earlier this year before being resubmitted.

He is scheduled to appear before the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee at 10 a.m. ET. During the hearing, Isaacman is expected to address several key developments since his prior nomination, including a leaked plan outlining significant changes to NASA’s organizational structure, interim administrator Sean Duffy’s decision to open the moon lander contract to competitors beyond SpaceX, and the status of programs the Trump administration had proposed cutting in a draft budget. In his previous hearing, Isaacman emphasized plans for parallel missions to send astronauts to both the moon and Mars. His renomination has garnered support from the space industry, with three dozen astronauts signing a letter backing him.
