The Trump administration on Monday announced the launch of the “U.S. Tech Force,” a new federal initiative that will bring together approximately 1,000 engineers and technology specialists to work on artificial intelligence infrastructure and other high-priority technology projects across government agencies. Participants will serve in a two-year program, collaborating directly with agency leaders and partnering with top technology companies.
Private sector partners include major firms such as Amazon Web Services, Apple, Google Public Sector, Dell Technologies, Microsoft, Nvidia, OpenAI, Oracle, Palantir, and Salesforce. The initiative reflects a broader push by the administration to strengthen America’s AI capabilities amid growing competition with China. Members of the Tech Force can pursue full-time positions with participating companies after completing their terms, and private companies may also nominate employees for temporary government assignments. Salaries are expected to range from $150,000 to $200,000 annually, with benefits. The program will focus on high-impact projects, including AI deployment, application development, data modernization, and digital service delivery across federal agencies.
