WASHINGTON – The White House confirmed Monday that President Donald Trump’s recent advanced imaging tests returned results described as “perfectly normal.”
Dr. Sean Barbabella, the president’s physician, said Trump underwent the scans during an October medical examination as a preventive measure, noting that men in his age group benefit from thorough cardiovascular and abdominal evaluations. The imaging is intended to assess overall health and detect potential issues before they become serious.
According to the memo, the cardiac imaging revealed no arterial narrowing, a condition where plaque buildup reduces blood flow, and no abnormalities in the heart or major vessels. Trump’s heart chambers were normal in size, with no signs of inflammation or clotting, and Barbabella described his cardiovascular system as showing “excellent health.”
The abdominal scan also appeared normal, with all major organs healthy and well-perfused, meaning they had strong blood flow relative to size. Barbabella emphasized that everything evaluated was functioning within normal limits, consistent with a standard executive physical for someone of Trump’s age, and confirming his overall health.
Trump had previously mentioned receiving an MRI during the October tests, but did not specify the exact area scanned. He indicated he was comfortable with the results being made public, stating the findings were “perfect” and noting that the scan did not involve his brain, referencing a cognitive test he completed.
