Apple to open manufacturing academy in Detroit

Apple announced plans to open a new Apple Manufacturing Academy in Detroit later this year, set to launch on August 19. The program will be in partnership with Michigan State University and will feature workshops focused on advanced manufacturing technologies.

The sessions will cover topics such as machine learning and deep learning in manufacturing, automation in product production, using manufacturing data to enhance product quality, and applying digital technologies to improve operations. Apple’s Chief Operating Officer, Sabih Khan, emphasized the company’s commitment to helping businesses adopt smart manufacturing to create new opportunities for both companies and the country. This academy is part of Apple’s broader $500 billion investment in the U.S., which includes new facilities in several states and a factory in Texas.
