Siren’s Curse, the newest thrill ride at Cedar Point in Ohio, temporarily stranded riders for at least the fourth time since its late June debut. The coaster, the first tilt coaster in the U.S., features a unique track section that disconnects, tilts 90 degrees, and then reconnects to a steep decline.
Park officials confirmed that on Tuesday, the ride stopped mid-tilt, with spokesman Tony Clark comparing the issue to a “check-engine light.” He said the coaster’s safety system worked as intended, the ride was restarted, and all guests safely completed their ride. Previous stoppages occurred on June 28, July 2, and July 19, with no injuries reported in any incident.
