The Bob’s Burgers panel at San Diego Comic-Con drew a large crowd this year, prompting organizers to move it to Ballroom 20—a bigger space than in past years, though not as massive as Hall H. With just four episodes left in season 15, fans don’t have to wait long for season 16, which premieres on Fox this September.
Season 16 will celebrate a major milestone: the 300th episode of Bob’s Burgers. Creator and executive producer Loren Bouchard reflected on the unique experience of sustaining the show over 15 years and 300 episodes. He described the ongoing narrative as a meditation on the characters, especially the uncertainty around the family’s restaurant’s survival. Bouchard appreciates this open-endedness, saying it allows the show to remain silly while still embracing small victories and moments of connection.
The panel showcased a clip from the season 16 premiere, which flashes back to the restaurant’s early days before Bob and Linda became parents. There was also a sneak peek of a Christmas episode in progress, where the family visits a festive village, and Louise convinces Bob to decorate cookies for Santa. Additionally, season 16 will include a Halloween episode featuring Teddy taking a job next door in an “occult” shop—offering a creepier twist than typical costume stores. Bouchard mentioned his favorite past Halloween costume for Louise, “Dragon With a Girl Tattoo,” though no new costume reveals were shared.
Fans also got a preview of an upcoming storyline featuring Linda’s sister Gail, voiced by Megan Mullally, who gives Bob a surprising yet terrifying massage. Gail’s arc will include plans for a wedding as part of an art project, much to Linda’s dismay. The panel included Bouchard, supervising director Bernard Derriman, and voice actors H. Jon Benjamin, John Roberts, Kristen Schaal, Eugene Mirman, Dan Mintz, and Larry Murphy.
Bob’s Burgers season 15 will continue airing through August 14, with season 16 starting September 28. The show has been renewed through season 19, ensuring many more adventures for the Belcher family.
