Cedric Mullins hits 100th career home run in Orioles’ 18-0 win over Rockies

Cedric Mullins hit his 100th career home run and 14th of the season off starter Antonio Senzatela, sparking a huge seven-run seventh inning as the Orioles routed the Rockies 18-0 on Saturday night in Baltimore. This victory marked the Orioles’ largest shutout win in franchise history.

Mullins joined Brady Anderson and Paul Blair as Orioles with at least 100 home runs and 100 steals. At age 30, he is considered a potential trade candidate as Baltimore likely looks to sell before Thursday’s deadline. Tyler O’Neill also contributed with a home run, a single, two walks, and three RBIs. Gunnar Henderson and Coby Mayo added two-run doubles in the big seventh inning, while Ryan O’Hearn drove in two runs. Alex Jackson capped the scoring with a late solo home run off Rockies’ DH-turned-pitcher Kyle Farmer.

On the mound, Trevor Rogers (4-1) delivered seven innings of one-hit pitching, lowering his ERA to 1.49 across eight starts since returning from a right knee injury in late May. Senzatela (4-14) struggled, giving up six runs on six hits and two walks over four innings in Colorado’s worst loss since a 21-0 defeat in May.

A standout defensive moment came in the third inning when Mullins made a diving catch to deny Orlando Arcia extra bases, preserving a 3-0 lead. Tyler O’Neill has been on a hot streak, going 6-for-10 with two homers and a double in his last three games.

Looking ahead, Japanese right-hander Tomoyuki Sugano (7-5, 4.54 ERA) is expected to start Sunday for Baltimore and could be among the players dealt before the trade deadline. The Rockies will counter with left-hander Austin Gomber (0-4, 6.03), making his eighth start.
