Starz has announced that Spartacus: House of Ashur will premiere this winter and has released a new teaser for the upcoming period drama. The series marks the return of Nick E. Tarabay as Ashur, a character he originally portrayed in the 2010 series Spartacus: Blood and Sand. This new chapter in the Spartacus franchise is led by original creator and showrunner Steven S. DeKnight.
The series explores an alternate path for Ashur, imagining a world in which he survives and is rewarded by the Romans for his past betrayals with control over the gladiator school where he once fought as a slave. Now a free man who has clawed his way to a position of power, Ashur faces an even deadlier challenge than the arena itself: navigating the brutal and treacherous world of Roman politics, where betrayal is not just common but essential for survival. Alongside Tarabay, the cast features Tenika Davis, Graham McTavish, Jamaica Vaughan, Jordi Webber, and Jaime Slater.
